Cannot Join a Coterie
Resolve join issues quickly.
Symptoms
- Applying at a Coterie's page (
coterie.rsvp/c/:slug) doesn't lead anywhere, or shows an error - You applied but never got an invite
- You have an invite, but signing up at
app.coterie.rsvpfails - You're signed in but don't see the community you expected
Causes and fixes
Check the link
Make sure you're using the exact link the creator shared, or the one from their public apply page. A mistyped slug will 404 instead of loading the community.
Your application may still be pending
Not every Coterie auto-approves. If the creator reviews applications manually, you'll need to wait for approval before you get an invite — check back with them if it's been a while.
Create your account with the invited email
Your invite is tied to the email address you applied with. Sign up at app.coterie.rsvp using that same address — a mismatch will block account creation.
Complete onboarding
Even after your account exists, you won't see the community's dashboard until you finish onboarding (picking a niche and accepting the rules).
Ask the admin to resend
If you're still stuck, ask the Coterie's admin to check your application status or resend your invite from their applications queue.
