Moderation & Reports
Keep quality high with the reports queue, strikes, and pausing members.
Why moderation matters here
The value of a Coterie comes from members trusting that the people around them are genuinely participating. Spam, low-effort contributions, inappropriate submissions or repeatedly joining sessions without participating can quickly erode that trust. Moderation protects the quality and culture of the community.
Reports
Members can report a post or a review that's off — inappropriate content, spam, someone clearly not participating in good faith. Reports land in your queue for review; you decide what happens next, from a warning to a strike to removal.
Strikes
Strikes accumulate against members who repeatedly skip reviews or get reported. Once a member crosses your configured threshold, they're automatically paused — you don't have to catch every case manually, but you can always intervene sooner if something's clearly wrong.
Reliability as an early signal
Before something becomes a strike-worthy problem, it usually shows up first as a dropping reliability score. Members who are falling behind on reviews but haven't yet triggered a strike are worth a proactive nudge — a quiet decline is easier to fix than a member who's already accumulated three strikes.
Pausing and removing members
A paused member keeps their account and history but can't submit or receive new reviews until you reinstate them. This is the right first move for most issues — it protects the community without permanently cutting someone off for what might be a one-off lapse.
